Rainy Day Is Lucky For Daytona 500 Winners.

This years Daytona 500 winners will be made due to rainy day. The luckiest rainy day Daytona 500 winner is Matt Kenseth!

Around 5:15 pm, the weather was looming in the distance. When the race becomes half over, if it is called due to weather, the leader will be the official winner. All race car drivers are now realizing their position holds a very important part to this race, not the end.

At the time of 5:19, it had become an official race. If it is called due to the weather, the leader would be the winner. Drivers now race for the pole position.

At 5:50 pm, the weather holds, but drivers deal with another type of storm. Brian Vickers and Dale Earnhardt Jr. get into a little bump and grind mess triggering a 9 car accident taking out several contenders, including Kyle Busch. "Kyle Busch led the most laps -- 88 -- before being involved in the nine-car accident that changed the complexion of the 51st Daytona 500."

Around 6:10, some rain drops fall but not enough to be of concern. Matt Kenseth takes the lead and tries to maintain it.

At 6:34 pm est, due to the rain, the race is red flagged and the cars are parked and pitted. The race never resumes because of the rain, and Matt Kenseth, driving car number 17, who was in the the lead at the time the race was called, becomes in 2009, one of histories Daytona 500 Winners.
