Nascar Mania About To Begin, Budweiser Shootout At Daytona!

In about a week, the Budweiser Shootout, which is the Daytona 500, will begin.

Nascar has gained popularity throughout the last decade. The start of the 2009 season will begin on Valentine's Day, February 14th at 1pm Eastern Standard Time, at Daytona International Speedway.

What used to be known primary as the "Daytona 500" became the official non-point kickoff race of the Sprint Cup Series in 1979 and was known as the "Bush Clash". In 1998 it changed its name to the "Bud Shootout", but in 2001 the name changed again, and is now known as "The Budweiser Shootout At Daytona"!

Daytona is what is known as a "SS" track. It is a tri-oval track that is 2.5 miles a lap. And in 2009 there has been a change to the entry line up. Now "only the top six teams and one wild-card entry in owner points from each manufacturer will earn berths in the season-opening exhibition race at Daytona"

Since 1979, the dominating racer still to date of "The Budweiser Shootout At Daytona" is none other than the legend himself, Dale Earnhardt!

So get yer 12 packs and yer tvs ready on February 14th at 1 pm and watch the official kickoff of the NASCAR!
